170° Wide-Angle Fisheye Camera

The DT821 outdoor video module features a 1/2.7-inch fisheye camera with a 170° viewing angle, helping residents obtain a broad view of the entrance.

When a visitor makes a call, the compatible indoor video monitor can display the camera image, allowing the resident to identify and speak with the visitor before opening the door.

Night-view illumination helps improve visibility during low-light conditions.

Visitor Calling & Two-Way Communication

The DT821 can be configured to allow visitors to contact a suitable apartment or indoor monitor using the installed calling controls.

Depending on the modules fitted, visitors may use a physical call button, apartment keypad or supported electronic display interface.

When a call is answered on a compatible indoor station, residents can communicate with the visitor and operate supported door-release controls.

Optional RFID Proximity Access Control

When fitted with a compatible 821-DR RFID reader module, the DT821 can provide proximity-based access control for authorised residents.

Compatible registered cards or key fobs can be used to activate a connected electric door lock.

Supported configurations may recognise suitable 125kHz and 13.56MHz unencrypted RFID credentials, depending on the installed reader and system configuration.

Important: RFID access is available only when the appropriate reader module is installed. RFID cards, fobs and programming accessories are not automatically included.

Optional Mechanical Keypad & Touchscreen

The DT821 system can also be configured with suitable keypad or display modules.

A compatible mechanical keypad can support apartment calling and authorised access-code functions, while supported display modules provide alternative visitor interfaces.

Exact keypad, touchscreen, directory and capacity functions vary depending on the installed modules and firmware.

Electric Door Lock Control

The DT821 supports connection to a compatible electric door lock through its lock-control interface.

The manufacturer specifies an internal lock output of 12V DC, maximum 250mA, suitable only for compatible locking equipment within this electrical limit.

Locks requiring a different voltage or higher current must use an appropriate external power supply and the correct lock-control wiring arrangement.

The unlocking duration can be configured between 1 and 99 seconds, according to the relevant system programming instructions.

Important: Second Door or Gate Control with DT-RLC

To control a second independently operated electric door lock or gate from the DT821 intercom system, an additional V-TEC DT-RLC relay module is required.

The DT-RLC is a separate DT Series relay interface designed to provide compatible additional lock-control functionality.

This can be useful where the property has:

  • A main entrance door and a separate pedestrian gate
  • Two independent electric locks
  • A shared building entrance and a second access-controlled door
  • A gate controller requiring a suitable relay activation signal

The DT-RLC is not included unless specifically stated and must be purchased separately.

Additional lock power supplies, cabling and suitable interfaces may also be necessary depending on the equipment being controlled.

DT Series 2-Wire BUS Technology

The DT821 operates on the dedicated V-TEC / 2EASY DT Series 2-wire BUS, using compatible DT system power supplies, indoor monitors and distribution equipment.

The non-polarised BUS arrangement can simplify wiring and may allow suitable existing cabling to be reused.

Before reusing existing wiring, the cable condition, conductor size, distance and system layout must be assessed.

Important: The DT821 is not a standard Ethernet PoE door station and is not automatically interchangeable with V-TEC DH Series intercom equipment.
